Ajman, UAE, 4 October 2022: As part of its continuous efforts to enhance coordination with government agencies toward advancing digital transformation in the country, the Ajman Department of Finance recently held a workshop for government agencies at its headquarters to introduce them to government credit cards.

 

The workshop also sought to consolidate cooperation efforts between the government of Ajman and Dubai Islamic Bank toward providing government departments with products that would contribute to facilitating their payments.

Easy and flexible payment experience

Haleema Al Shehhi, director of the financial resources development section at the Ajman Department of Finance, indicated that the workshop reflects the department’s commitment to adopting innovative initiatives and solutions to continuously improve financial practices at the government level and accelerating digital transformation toward achieving sustainability in economic development.

She added that the initiative aims to encourage digital purchases at the government level and reduce reliance on cash in government transactions. The aim is to provide a streamlined, flexible and efficient payment experience for the concerned authorities by reducing the time required to complete online transactions.

Al Shehhi also stressed that the credit card issued by Dubai Islamic Bank to government agencies in Ajman would be dedicated to covering government agencies’ expenses resulting from digital purchases required by their respective business needs. She also clarified the criteria and mechanism for issuing the credit cards.

She added: “The government credit card is granted explicitly to cover job-related expenses or for government purposes; it may not be used for personal payments.”

It is noteworthy that the Ajman Department of Finance works to develop effective frameworks for the emirate’s financial affairs and is committed to consolidating and investing in partnerships with the public and private sectors to develop a pioneering work system that would meet the aspirations of all parties and contribute to providing added value to all stakeholders.
